No, Porsche was seriously looking at building the car themselves elsewhere I read. Decided it would be too expensive to move and set up a new production line.
The 924 was a VW project that they dropped and the Audi plant begged Porsche to put their name on it (Porsche did the design work) and sell so the Audi plant wouldn't have to close. Geoff |
