Hello everyone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/help.gif)

Just discovered a crack around 6 inches long in my windscreen / windshield. I'm based in the uk so was wondering if anyone has a lead on where I can source one from or for any uk based members have you had yours replaced by one of the national windscreen companies via your car insurance ? Did they manage to locate one ok ? Any issues.

Many thanks for any advice

Jonathan

Thank you both for your helpful - informative and slightly worrying input (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif) ! I will check with the company (no contact as yet .... ) as to the manufacturer of the screen and process for fixing. I haven't explored the fixing clips bit as yet - is there a good link or thread to taking the trim off etc ? I have an old sc as well and had to take the screen out of that to repair some rust in the corner of the screen - it has a trim around the screen which came off easily but after a gentle prod at the 914s .... Very solidly fixed and didn't want to damage the chrome in prying it off. The crack is above a patch of rust just under the screen surround so I'm anticipating that as the screen comes out their will be some repair needed before the new one can be fitted..... I will add that to my discussions / questions when they ring me to book the job (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) thank you for the link to the clip site - will check it out to try get a better idea of how it all hangs together. Will let you know how I get on !
Best wishes
Jonathan
