When they de-regulated the freight industry, they sucked all the money out of the business. Use to be that companies worked a territory and took care of the customers in that area. Any more it's about volume. Move the shit and avoid paying freight claims. If you don't add extra coverage, they use a $ per pound calculator based on the freight class to determine how much they pay. Then you wait 6 months to get your check. Lots of time I just right off damaged furniture because it isn't worth the time to do the work
