This picture says it all.
I have no idea how you would need to drive an 18-wheeler in order to invert an engine on a pallet WITH THE PALLET STILL ATTACHED: Attached thumbnail(s) ![]() |

I'm an Engineer and did the stupid more than a few times... I took a 1200lb internet router chassis (all sheet-metal) off the production floor in it's packing crate and had it moved over to our shock and vibration lab.
They ran the chassis through the drop tests and transportation tests (big XYZ table that simulates crappy ride over Mexican roads). They then took it out of its crate to do the "operational testing". Chassis was then supposed to be delivered back to our lab for post mortem. I didn't specifically tell the internal moving crew to REPACK the chassis in it's crate... they rolled it into the truck and strapped it to one wall, drove 2 miles, went over 3 or 4 driveways.. and BENT the freaking chassis! It was visibly drooping by a good 1/2" over a 6' length. Back to expensive drawing board.. and lesson to me.... |
