Anyone here have experience with self contained 12V AC compressor ?
Mounts remote from engine, driven by electric motor.
Seems it might be a way to have AC on a 6 conversion.
Jegs sells them in two capacities.
Pretty spendy.

A few of my lotus friends have used this solution with engine swaps where it's hard to mount a compressor in limited space.
Yes, you need a correctly sized alternator, but the platform works just as advertised, but I wouldn't be looking at this for any cabin size larger than an Elise / 914

I got it ....fill the Frunck with ice cubes and redirect the fresh air intake into the Frunck.
Make sure to set up some sort of drain though.

I believe Eliot did an ice based AC system using an ice chest, coil in the ice, water in the coil, all pumped through a heater core with a fan. I seem to recall him saying it worked pretty well even in the hot summers he gets. Just need to replenish the ice once in a while. Bet with some of the new super ice boxes, like Yeti, and with a brine/ice solution, it would be even better.

I worked at it for awhile. Kinda gave up on it. These work well. I would guess it would last about 2 hours or so before you have to stop for more ice. In an airplane you might only need it for a short while anyway. It can get pretty cool at altitude. http://portable-aircraft-air-conditioners-...nstruction.com/
