Hi, does anybody know if Zeniths ever came stock on 914/6? My buddy acquired an old 6 motor that came with Zeniths on it and they look like they've been there a long time.
thanks Joe |

In 1970-71, the US version of the 911T (2.2ltr) had Zenith carbs. The German version had Weber 40IDT3C. The engine in question probably has Zenith carbs from a 2.2ltr engine or is a 2.2 engine. Check the serial number.
The Zeniths were trouble even when they were new; the idle circuits would stop up. Bolt on a set of Webers and the problem was gone. The 1972 European 2.4T engine had Zeniths, the US version had MFI. Both engines were changed to CIS injection during the 72 or 73 model year. |
