Hi, does anybody know if Zeniths ever came stock on 914/6? My buddy acquired an old 6 motor that came with Zeniths on it and they look like they've been there a long time.
thanks Joe |

Zeniths are OK, just there is no parts for them.
The weber IDA has parts, many parts are reproduced, big selection oversize vents and jets and main things like jets, etc., are the same as the 2 barrel IDA the bug guys use. Not to mention that both the 2 and 3 barrel (PMO) are reproduced. |

I was able to get for mine all jets, rebuild kits, venturi's,and air bleed screws, the same supplier had throttle shafts, bushes etc, etc. These parts have all been reproduced as with the Webers as Mark says. These carbs have been well documented on Pelican ,the reason Porsche had Zenith/Solex make them is that there was a shortage of Webers from the factory at the time, they were known as a smog (emissions) carb hence the small stock venturis and lean idle jets. Many have modified them to work for more performance it not that hard,I have done the upgrade on mine. I don't think they were ever fitted to a 2.0L engine. |
