The 2.0 starts, it runs, it idles smoothly. Put it in gear & take off it bogs until 2 or 3 grand then it's off to the races. And, just enough time to get 100 or so yards from home it bucks then stalls & pumping the gas sorta keeps it running.......
sometimes (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) Then other times it runs like there's absolutly nothing wrong (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif) There's a brand new CHT and TPS and adjusted valves and new gas filter and oil pressure sender. Just took out & checked all 5 injectors for leakage (coldstart valve) proper spray pattern & volume, right on, Timed spot on. I thought when I ran my hand under the dash the other day it cured it but I guess not. Am I missing a sensor somewhere that will do this? How about the Pertronics??? anyone have this happen wit that? I'm about to remove the knee pad & dig into the wiring at the start switch cuz it seems like it just gets turned off (by some gremlin) but everything (except the engine) is still on (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) anyone?????? please???? .b |

QUOTE Special_K Posted on Oct 14 2004, 08:31 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is your fuel press. reg. adjusted correctly? According to my gauge it reads 30 psi. but, ya know, when the engine is running the vibration makes the needle blurry and it's span is + & - by a pound. QUOTE nebreitling Posted on Oct 14 2004, 09:13 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- assuming it's not ignition (check all this), i'd suspect trigger points. I took out the trigger points when I changed the points to Pertronics but it's a good idea and I'll give it a try. Does anyone know if the trigger points are interchangeable from a 1.7 dizzy to a 2.0? I have a good set of points from my blown 1.7. Thanks guys for the replies & places to continue my sleuth-n-izing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif) .....b |
