I have just gotten my first Porsche 914. It is a 1976 car and only has a driver's side mirror. I understand that is the standard but would like to get a left side mirror.
Does anyone know where I can find one? Thanks. |

I think you meant the right passenger side mirror, & yes, AFAIK Porsche still has those new with a slight convex (+/- 10-15%) through dealers & parts sources (also have driver/left flat ones new). I got a new pair about 3 years ago for $125 a side after a 25% discount, so not cheap new.
You can also buy a new or used driver/left side one & flip it for the passenger/left side use. Do a WTB ad on here for one, & Bruce stone & others will chime in. Don't forget to get a pair of new rubber seals for under the L & R mirrors' bases. The speed nuts are already welded into the underside of the passenger door. so all you need to do to mount them, is find the ir location, then drill from the top down into them so you can screw them in. I'd recco some Wurth zinc rich primer (or similar) & some touch-up paint over the bare metal where you drill, to prevent any rust issues growing there. Good Luck!
