Can anyone help me out. I am having issues shifting into first gear. I had the bushing replaced and it really helped with the slack in the shifter but still have trouble getting into first gear. All other gears work smoothly. The clutch cable was also adjusted, but no luck.
Any advise, I don't want to have the transmission rebuilt if I don't have to. I have a 72 with a tail shifter. |

Grinding or just won't go into gear? Grinding the 1st gear slider and brake bands are shot. Won't go in and it could just be out of adjustment. Both you are going to have to take it apart, may as well rebuild the whole box. |
