This is well outside of my wheelhouse! I am assuming this is the clear succumbing to the last 5-years of (my ownership) exterior storage and beat by the sun. I've never seen clear literally peel and lift (like this). It is only happening to the top radiused edge but is on all four sides - it is metal. Can this be wet-sanded down and then re-sprayed with clear? What to do and how to do it? Thanks in advance...
Tony PS: My main concern is not being able to salvage the paint - multiple colors would be a PITA to respray. |

Nice coach! I'd probably scrub off as much clear coat as possible with a car wash brush every time I washed it, and live with it until I was ready to paint the whole thing. The good thing is it's way up near the top and probably bothers you more than anyone. A nice coach like that with a little peeling clear coat is way better than no coach at all (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
UV is brutal. I have a friend who flips RV's and nearly every older low mileage unit needs front tires, simply from UV damage, and that's the bottom of the vehicle. |
