VIN 4762903845 What I get from the decoder is April 1976 build, not having the day or month. I know the last year was 1976 and numbers were very low. Using the vin pictures posted, am I off? I did not see a DDMM in my vin so I take it MYY then build number. 4 month of April, 76 year of vehicle, 2903845 left over numbers I have no idea. For my engine number posted it is a 73 2.0 Chassis number posted I have no idea. I want to decode to add to the website history. Thanks all for your help. Engine miles...unknown, has a time cert on #2 cyl. Not sure if I can have the heads redone with a time cert but looking at keeping the 2.0 in the car and rebuilt. Added appearance package OEM used center console. Car came with no square late model fog lamps, just blank fillers. Added aftermarket ones but if someone has OEM late model Hella square fogs, let me know. I know by the driver door panel it is paint code for Ivory White. The paint is poor and I need a full body job, belly pan is rusted but have a new pan to go in. Have full fiberglass front and rear flared fenders...not the little ones, the entire fiberglass body panels. Not sure if I want to cut this low model last year 914 up but has some rust all over. |

What I get from the decoder is April 1976 build No, like i said, your car was build in '75. The Model Year (MY) for '76 started in August of '75. As far as i know, all 4000+ '76 cars were actually build in the second half of '75. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) Your chassis code from the door is 4929040, The decoder says that this was built on Tuesday of the 49th week of the year, and was the 40th chassis made that day. This ^^^ WW D 9 (X)XX 49 2 9 040 Week 49, Day 2, 040 chassis build that day Week 49 = December 1, 1975 to December 7, 1975 Day 2 = Tuesday, December 2nd 1975 |
