Hello everyone,
Just wanted to drop a line and tell you guys that I am one of the newbies in the froum.
I just bought my first 914 and I am sooo happy to have found this forum.I have so much questions and before I start asking, I'll just use the search option a lot, but be prepared for me to start throwing ?????
Oh, and I am in the bay area too!

Welcome to the 914Garage…glad you are local. We have great bay area 914 community and it all starts on this forum…

Sounds like you have the very rare 2.0L bus engine option… (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

All factory 2.0L 914 engines are not bus engines, but are actually VW type 4 engines reengineered by Porsche. Porsche was looking for a means to replace similar performance of their 914/6 engines which were discontinued in 1972. So they took the previous 1.7L VW 4 cylinder engines and redesigned them. Better heads, bigger stroke, bigger pistons…and a better exhaust system. 95 fuel-injected ponies was the result, all in the right powerband.

Bus engines were made for low-end torque…while its not unheard of previous owners installing bus engines into the 914…it is not optimum.
