Do the Boxster calipers fit factory Fuchs wheels. And do they need to be 16 in wheels.
I am putting Boxster Calipers on my V8 car and I want to know that the 16 Fuchs factory wheels in 16 inches will fit with 7 inch (911) and 8 inch( 951) wheels, Or 8 in (911) Thanks as always for the help. Bob B (IMG:style_emoticons/default/pray.gif) |

For anyone running 15" wheels you can go with Wilwood Calipers... Also there are a couple tricks to installing these, I can inform anyone interested.

Which Wilwoods? Piston sizes? What calipers are you running on the rear? Master cylinder diameter? Thanks, Andys |

Thanks, Andys You will need a 1/8"npt x 10mm bubble flare adapter for the brakes lines (available at dune buggy shops or amazon). The mounting holes need to be drilled out from 7/16" to 15/32" (12mm). I bought the superlites, but if you really want dust seals get the dynapro. Buy the version with the 3.5" mounting holes, they mount on later 911 3.5" struts (same struts the boxster calipers fit). If you have 20mm rotors buy the ones for .810" rotors. 24mm rotors you can get the 1.25" version, technically though that rotor is a little small for it, so I preferred the 20mm route. I am amazed at how the offsets are correct, fitting the rotors perfectly, no pad overhang or anything. I have the 1.25" Bore (4 piston), similar overall area to the early 911 46mm M-caliper. The rears are 42mm rear 911 M calipers. I run a 19mm master cylinder. I expect it to brake much better with porterfield RS4 pads on all 4 corners, but I am waiting on some parts at the moment to complete this swap. I didn't want to go too big on the piston and upset the bias and have to convert to a 23mm master cylinder. Not any reason why you can't buy the dynalites either at $130 ea from summit. Btw, you can buy them in many piston sizes. |
