Working on my transmission now and I lack the expertise to know if parts (syncros, slider, and dog teeth) are still serviceable.
Just wondering if everyone just replaces everything while they're in there. I know it's expensive, but is it worth the cost just to ensure I don't put bad parts back in? I found AutohauzAZ to have some of the best prices. Does anyone have a better parts supplier recommendation? |

Thanks for the positive vibes, guys (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
There are a few options. 1) replace everything, best, $$$$. I do sell new parts as well and can meet or beat competitor prices. I also have a good stock of many used parts that will save $$. 2) Replace only the parts needing it. Saves money, but of course some parts will wear out at a later date and you will eventually have to go in and change them. This is inevitable, though. Scale your budget/driving miles per year/time to make a decision on this. 3) Send me the stack and Ill assess and replaced. This is fast and easy on my end as I can get it done in a weekend. This is the only service I am currently offering as I am tied up getting a house ready to sell. Shipping is way less, too. Contact me for more on this option. 4) Send me your consumables and I will inspect them and let you know report and pricing options for what needs replaced. Id do inspection for free (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Hope that helps. |
