Tan Interior Options

I did some parts swapping with bondo this last weekend and finally got a tan interior for my blue car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I've spent the last couple of days cleaning and installing the tan stuff, and it looks really nice!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) Now the only problem is I want to do the dash face and face of the center console in the tan basketweave to match the rest of the interior. Sooooo, my question is, does anybody have some tan door panels that has shitty backing, but decent basketweave? Being an honorary member of the CSOBOSC, I'd optimally like it inexpensive (read: dirt cheap). I also have parts to swap if you need something. Thanks mucho.

You can purchase the 1975-76 style of basketweave in TAN from World Upholstery in CA. They sell the material by the yard.

They made up the new interior pieces for my 914 and the pre-sewn kit was a solid 9 out of 10 when compared to the original factory upholstery that I removed for MarkB.

They have the 1973-74 basketweave in black but not tan.

The website is a little lacking in the navigation department and their prices tend to be cheaper than what is shown on their site. Get someone on the phone and they will take very good care of you. I ordered seats, door panels, center armrest with map pocket, and back-pad. They gave me like a 15% or 20% discount from the list prices.

When I received the kit they had even thrown in an extra square yard of the plain tan vinyl, "just in case". I bought an electric staple gun, s spool of twine, & pop rivet tool at home depot along with some fiberglass mat and resin. It took about three days to remove and reinstall everything and that includes fiberglassing the areas of my back-pad that had water damage and were becoming multiple pieces. I had never done anything like this before and I can honestly say none of the work was hard but it did require concentration and a steady pace... get in a hurry and your bound to ruin something.

World Upholstery's pre-sewn kit is less expensive than purchasing just the raw materials from Performance Products!

Here are some pics of the completed interior. I am no pro-installer or anything but I think it turned out looking pretty great. Don't mind the ugly greenish-tan mats... they were there to protect the new carpet (thanks morphenspectra) from debris on the way to Phoenix Flight.
