So I have one in the Werke shope that is a bad leak'er.
74 2.0L street car.
Front mount cooler with the ubiquitous Mocal sandwich adapter which seems to
be a significant (but not the entire) culprit.
One of the issues that is probably contributing to the problem is the clearance of the oil filter.
Due to the depth of the adapter the oil filter is low enough that the engine cross bar impacts the Oil filter.
There is just enough clearance, but given the eng. bar is rubber mounted its without a doubt vibrating on the filter body.
Anyone else deal with this & what was the solution.
I checked the rubber mounts & they are in good shape.
Different filter brand? Space out the Motor mounts off the case?

Thanks

Two things. One I have seen.
The adapter has an o-ring. Go make sure it’s seated correctly.
For the filter, either another shorter filter, or a die grinder to remove a hair off the bar till it stops touching.

A remote filter is pretty easy to do if you get inspired.
