likely not hot enough, ran it for 15-20 min.

checked compression. Plugs are in the picture Left to right 1, 2, 3, 4 also.

The 1974 had the lowest compression (right?). So is this low?

Doesn't sound too bad to me. Except for #1, the plugs look good (maybe a little light). The lower compression in 1 probably explains the darker plug. Main question is, how does it run? Are you burning oil? You don't want to let #1 get any lower. If you squirt a little oil in 1 does the coompression come up? That would spot the lower compression to rings or valves.
