The 914/6 oil cooler is located in front of the rear wheel, at the front of the wheel well. There will be no cooking allowed in the engine compartment (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif)

Once owned a ‘73-S out of TX. Clever guys there came up with a version of the loop cooler. It was located in the right side rear wheelhouse at the front behind the lock post. Car never ran more than 190 degrees. At the time front oil coolers were an option.
Sometime later a friend picked a ‘72 S. Car had been updated by a Brumos mechanic to a 2.7 RS configuration. The oil cooler was in the right side wheel house again, however this time it was behind the tire where the oil tank would have normally been placed. This time it was a typical radiator style. Also worked well.
