I took the teener out for a short drive the other day. Its much colder now, so it took considerably longer to warm up. Once it did, it ran great, as usual. However, while it was still cold, I noticed a bit of backfiring on decelleration.
I figure its about time to drop a new set of plugs in the car. It's a 2.0-4, with dual Solex Carbs. The carbs are set REALLY rich, so it's pretty "gassy" at startup, but once it warms up, I love the way it runs, so I don't want to mess with the settings. Everyone has a different opinion on a good set of plugs for good performance. I've used Accel, splitfire, Bosch +4, etc. Some cars like em, other's don't. Of course, that was in my old 70's GM days. Never put a set of plugs in the teener yet. Suggestions on a good plug for my situation? |

Bosch
W7DTC - tripple electrode, work great on carbs. W7DC - stand Copers, work fine, less $$$ then the DTC's. NGK BP7ES - Is that the number? Either way, both plugs in that heat range should work well with you engine set up. The DTC's the best, but they are like $3-4 a plug. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |
