My Mig is dead - sad day it hs served me well.
Not the best but a boy has his foundness for his tools you know. Anyrate - repair will be $150-$250 depending on if it is just the relay or the board. So do I drop the $$$$s into a Lincoln and repair it or do I update to a more modren unit?????? I see Daytona Mig has a small TIG in the $600 range - what are you guy's using and do you like it? This MigPak of mine welded 95% of what I do, it is an old trusted friend fixing 3 914s and several other cars, trucks and vans, etc..... But if there is something better I will jump up and take a look at it. |

Yeah, thats about what I paid for my 175...
The problem I have found with the hobarts is that they don't have the infinite amperage adjustment...the one I used was either too damn hot on setting 4 or too cold on 3...made it very frustrating...and there is no way that 230v hobart I used could weld body panels waaaay too hot even on the lowest setting...don't know if the thing had been abused or not though...but my 230v miller can do thin metals with ease.
