I am planning to do an EFI conversion on a 1.8L type four.
What manifold options are available to adapt ITBs to the T4 four bolt heads? I think that I prefer the jenvey ITBs but would like to draw from the groups experience. Thanks |

Also questioning the use of ITBs on an otherwise stock 1.8. Its getting the worst of both worlds with no real upswing.
You get the loud howl of carbs, the finicky balancing act and a ton of moving parts that can fail or go out of alignment, combined with a harder to tune EFI system. I'm using a stock 1.8 plenum and intake runners and throttle body on my custom EFI build, except on a 2056 that is putting 130hp at the wheels (and I have a dyno chart to prove it). Using stock parts, only one throttle body, and a simple plenum to pull vacuum from. And you probably have all that stuff on hand and don't need to buy crazy expensive psuedo-carbs. Zach |
