Teenhulk my 17 yr/old son realizes that his 914 project is at least 3-5 years from completion but wanted a car now.
I found him a real nice condition 1982 Audi coupe, 5 cylinder. I believe it's a B2, same but upgraded VW dasher? Like to lower it a few, bilsteins, don't want to kill the ride, don't want to bag it. just something well sorted, firm...you know like a well sorted 914. Even I don't like the rears, they are pretty weak, car sits nose high like a stock 914. 4X100 wheel pattern so any VW, honda, hyundai, chevy cobalt, etc etc., rim will fit with the right offset. Lots of cheap choices for rims. Any suggestion from the collective? Steer me in the right direction. I've asked over on the vortex forum, I'm guessing that's the best source? The ad for the car he bought, https://www.kijiji.ca/v-cars-trucks/markham...gationFlag=true Attached image(s) ![]() |

Nice car. I had an 84 in white. The 1st wife got it in a divorce. Another story.
There is a guy that knows a lot about these cars. His name is Dan Garza. Sorry, but the best way to find him is on Facebook. If you have or you son has a Facebook account, you can usually find him on a couple of pages. Small Chassis Audi Pre-95 Small Chassis Audi There are a few peoples on these pages and they could help you. Been a while since I had mine, but I was running Konis and springs. Oh yeah, the car weighs less than 3000lbs. Greg W. |

Messaged Dan Garza hopefully he'll reply, I found this is it written by you? https://www.diyauto.com/manufacturers/volks...-90quattrocoupe A job like this works for me, but I bet this is for '83-, I've lowered VW aircooled, 914 conversion and welded in a couple mustang front ends. I can mod suspension bits but I don't want crazy, I want something that just bolts to the car. |
