My undrstanding, although others are sure to know much better, is that the 914/6 GT had the fiberglass roof with some sort of steel reinforcement and fixtures that allowed the roof to be bolted to the frame at the four corners. As such, it would hav been removable, but only with the use of a wrench.
The 916, on the other hand, had a steel roof welded to the frame. From the outside, there was no break in the steel or the paint between the windshield frame and the steel painted roof. My .02 Michel Richard 914 2.2E MFI |
