For what it's worth: I was talking to my friend/mechanic yesterday and he mentioned that he was 0 for 2 ordering rod bolts for a six he is rebuilding. They don't fit in the holes and are unacceptable. He spoke to Pelican about it. The manufacture is, get this, "OEM." Other parts are manufactured by "Germany." He surmised that they are Chinese manufacturers and we are being mislead by the name. He finally ordered some from Germany, the country.

That term is 'oem supplier'.
But then with all the failed leveraged buyouts of European manufactures during the Great Recession, name brand parts might now be from China too. |
