William Grier and I have been assembling Brutus for a few weeks now. We began with a naked tub which had received a nearly 2 year complete body restoration and paint job. We reached a major milestone today......see video. Note: the wheels that are currently on Brutus are borrowed from a 1973 911RS.

I’d love to hear details of the assembly from Steve. There looks to be a lot of large and small differences from a typical 914-6. Some parts similar to a GT and others unlike any other car.

Not really, We got this car as a pile of junk, and completely dismantled it to a bare body shell and began to rebuild the wreck and rust and horror for two years, finally reassembling it and locating many many many missing parts. Please remember that this car started as a stock 914-6 NOT build from a body in white as the rest of the 916s were, so it was virtually a "conversion job".
A couple of things though: Installing the headliner was a challenge as we actually had no idea how it was installed until we looked at our 916 and even that was not good enough as we could not take it out to see how it was done. The car had a wooden floor board and attachment stop on the passenger side just like a 911, and the seats, although looking like a stock 914 seat were taller with webbing in the bottom rather than the fiberglass bucket. The oil lines, GT tank, and some of the wiring was a challenge, but the rest was just like a 914 reassembly that we do here every day here is a start: http://www.914club.com/bbs2/index.php?show...9&hl=brutus I’d love to hear details of the assembly from Steve.
