I'm surprised a turbo was the loudest; usually the turbocharger muffles things, at least to some extent. I would have figured that a 908 or a 917 (N/A) would have been louder.

We don't know what weighting (dBA/B/C/integrated) they used on the sound meter. The higher frequency noise generated by the turbo which is not as unpleasant to human ears might have really contributed to the measured sound level.
