Anyone run the classic Pirelli CN-36 tire on any car? I'm looking for specific feedback on this tire.

I ran CN-36's on my 70 1.7 with glass flares front and rear. Started with 205's on front and 225"s on the rear. I really liked them. Lots of feedback when in a corner. I had one corner in Long Beach coming off Long Beach Blvd, A 270 degree corner back onto Long Beach freeway to Naval shipyard that I usually took at 65 mph. Any faster and the front end started pushing pretty bad and I needed to slowly back off a little. The fronts were worn so I replaced them with 215's and the push went away and I could get up to 70+ in the same corner. Like on tracks! That car with only 80 HP was the most fun to drive car I ever owned. I'll see if I can find a decent pic. I took digital pictures of my old hard pictures, so some distortion is evident. There was nothing wrong with the front end, although it sure looks funny. Back then ( about 75 ), I paid about $100.00 each for blems. CN-36's.
Wish I never sold that one! Tom Attached thumbnail(s) |
