this popped up on my local facebook - appears to be a 911T engine.
I'm tempted to buy it just to have for the future. What's the core value? can it be rebuilt to E or even S specs? https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2674783612589753/ |

Here is a core 2.4 closer to you..
Buy it without the MFI Setup for 2500 or less and build from there. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911...mfi-system.html If the 2.0 had Weber carbs it might be worth it, but they look like Zeniths and they aren't worth anything like Webers. |

If the 2.0 had Weber carbs it might be worth it, but they look like Zeniths and they aren't worth anything like Webers. Zeneth's can be good carbs, but agree it's webers you want. I don't think I've seen it done yet but you could gut the zeneths add FI bungs to the manifold and use them as TB's My advice for non-mechanic who wants a budget engine is to spend the extra on a running engine with a PPI. A non operating engine, sure I'd give a go at getting it running, but it's likely a core and I'd treat it as such. If I was personally buying a core to rebuild I'd look for a 3.0 up engine, if just because of the aluminum case. If you rebuild all the /6 engines cost roughly the same, why not build a bigger engine. |
