Ok guys,
back at work trying to bring the 73 4 cylinder back to life. I used the trashed floorboard as a template , and used marine plywood to re-make it. Came out good in my opinion. So I have it back in place, but the plates holding it in place are long gone by the PO - who didn't think retaining removed parts was very important - obviously. I'm not making a concourse car - just want a fun canyon carver I can drive a couple of times a week. so anyone use a wide (fender washer ) as a replacement? if so, was it suitable? alternately if I can find an accurate drawing I can fab one up pretty quick, but i don't have any reference to work off of other that the crummy Black and white photo in a Haynes manual thats as old as the car! and anyone know the dimensions of the bolts? thanks in advance everyone cheers |

I believe those are pan-head screw M6 X 15 - from my PET catalog - Page 217.
Download a version in .pdf - it's really helpful. https://www.porsche.com/all/media/pdf/origi...914_KATALOG.pdf (this one has different page numbers than mine but you'll figure it out...) EDIT: here's a couple of the plates on ebay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-912-91...XMAAOSw1ZBUwt8P https://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-912-91...hAAAOSwwzhZVrs1 |
