So I am a new 914 owner ( 1973) - car is running, but the clutch will not engage. Last owner said they thought the linkage was broken - but in looking under the car, the rod is moving just fine from shifter back to transmission. As I am poking around today I notice this cable end out near the rear / firewall. Is this my clutch cable? I think it is, but confused where the rest ended up.. and... where should I look/ repair for this? THANK YOU!   |

Add Clutch Tube Broke Loose to the List..... you need these 2 parts,without a doubt.. the clip get from 914rubber Attached image(s)

Started with looking at the clutch tube - suprisingly, mine is intact and solid.
worked down the line from there... Pressure plate seems to be the thought. Very likely I'll have a couple weekends under the car in my future. I'll put out the lower mainland / Vancouver BC callout for beer and pizza soon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) probably something best achieved with more then my set of hands! Thanks everyone for the ideas. I'll order up some parts regardless - if its coming out - better to replace the old stuff now then do it again sooner!
