I'm currently running 15x7 cookie cutters with Kumho Ecsta V700 205/50's.

For my 2nd set of track wheels, I'd like to run Hoosiers and would prefer to go 16x7's instead of 15's. (This is a stock bodied car).

What are the odds I could squeeze some 215/40 Hoosiers under the car, on 16x7's? I am more worried about the fronts than the rears, as the rear fenders were significantly rolled and pulled and have a bunch of extra room with the current rubber.

The Hoosiers do not seem to be available in a 205/55R16 or 205/50 size, so my only other option looks like sticking with 205/50R15's (?)

I was hoping to have a "short" set and a "taller" set for different tracks. Obviously the 215/40R16's will still be a short tire with a big gearing impact.

This probably won't help you since I have the Chalon body kit, but my track tires are Hoosier's: Front 205/45/16 on a 7" BBS wheel, Rears 245/45/16 on an 8" BBS wheel. No problem on the front, the rears just make it.

I didn't know there was a 205/45R16 Hoosier. That would be perfect, slightly taller than a 205/50R15 (about .20"), which is what I want. Somehow I missed it on TireRack.com, or they don't stock that size. All I saw that was close was the 215/40... I'll check again, thanks for the heads-up!

Now I just have to track down the local guy who had the cheap 16x7 fuchs. I kinda flaked on picking them up a while back...
