A lot of older threads on the topic of marrying transaxles to V8s. I just finished rebuilding an LS1 and am looking to weigh current and cost effective options on the trans. G50s are out of my league but Boxter and Subaru variants sound efficient and reliable. Currently running a SBC 350 and 901 side shift.
For those of you who have had the experience of building them, or are building them now, what are your opinions, preferences, or realizations? Planning for a street/track set up. Thank you for the help in advance. |

I appreciate everyone's input. A lot of great information has come up along with the research I've done around it.
Brake options completely opened a new door. What brakes have you upgraded to? |

I appreciate everyone's input. A lot of great information has come up along with the research I've done around it. Brake options completely opened a new door. What brakes have you upgraded to? Fresh Boxster Brakes are a good option with vented caliper’s and 911 parking brake set up. strengthening of trailing arms by PMB Performance I bought my 930 trans with LSD from a Guy called Army Dude on world 11 years ago. Work was done on it by GBox. He said the trans work and clutch cost him $7,500 back then http://www.gboxweb.com/company.html Look them up they have lots of info for custom transmissions. Flipped and set up for hydraulic clutch with Kennedy Clutch and 930 CVs and stub shafts My trans has oil cooling on it with an external oil pump by Tilton thought GBox said I would not need it. They said it can handle over 650 FT Lb. of torque? This has never been run in car yet just mounted. Bob B |
