first off- i am 6'1", the primary use of this seat will be for AX and trips to the mountains, aggressive driving. I want better side support and head protection. right now if i got hit from behind like Clay did my head would be shattering the rear window, so this is not a good scenario. i've been searching forum here looking at what others have used. I have looked at the seats that Stefan at GTS Classics makes, and as i look at those options, it seems the best fit and option might be the one that has a 914 shaped headrest but can be raised and lowered, i think it s the Nurburgring, but recently saw a set a member had made i think were the Watkins Glen, they seem to fit in a 914 nicely but the headrest is fixed in place and does not appear to be taller than stock, So i am looking for options that wont completely break the bank but give great support and fit better for my height and size. I did buy some Corbeau from a member but found they are made for someone 5'8" or smaller and as thin as i am, even narrower. so those are gone and i am researching this time better before i buy. Please post pics if you have them!!! |

are these Recaro Pole position seats? did you get them from Recaro directly or another reseller? it appears that you can get full leather , they are $1400 and the suede option is $900. also looks like there are a couple versions of the Pole position seat, some look like cushioning is thicker than yours. I do like the look. So i also will slide the seat forward a bit, even a 6'2" in a stock seat its a reach to get the clutch all the way in if seat is all theway back. I need to find one somewhere around here i can try out. Yes they're Recaro Pole Position seats... they were installed by Patrick Motorsports prior to my ownership, I 'think' they're leather... I know there are some knock off versions out there too that I've seen on Car-Bone. I can see if I can get a pic or measure from my heel to the pedals at full 'back' position. Every time I get out of the car I slide them all the way back to make getting in and out easier past the cage, but I come forward a good amount to get to where I can put the clutch pedal to the floor. Seems to me they'd be ideal for tall drivers. |
