it is a basket type arrangement and i have seen it in pictures and i want one for my tennis and golf gear or my road trip around the USA. some one knows the story and can point me in the right direction.

Get a spare top to experiment on. Use any number of "roof baskets" on the market that will bolt within the dimensions of the top.
