@gms I hope you continue posting the resto of this car back to its original body. I am really interested in seeing the deconstruction of the chalon kit as I’m curious how it was done, especially one that has magazine provenance…

@gms I hope you continue posting the resto of this car back to its original body. I am really interested in seeing the deconstruction of the chalon kit as I’m curious how it was done, especially one that has magazine provenance… Chalon kits were made in the L.A. Mitcom factory, brainchild of Allan Mittleman. Allan also supplied 911 guys all the lightweight fiberglass body panels. Dan McLoughlin of A.I.R. nearby in Burbank, was the other 911/ 935 mfg of lightweight body work in the 70/80/90's...and did build the John Bond (magazine publisher) 914 wide body/ 930 power car (IMG:style_emoticons/default/first.gif) The body panels on the Altec-Lansing black 914 look similar to the Bond prototype 914. ![]() |
