Need help again. I found out my car was originally from California. Any indication of smog equipment is gone. So how is the smog pump mounted to front of the engine? I've seen the parts and would like to see an engine with this installed.

Thanks,

DaveB

Looks like a 604 same as mine. Which is also why there is no indication of an EGR. That engine never came with any of those things.
What’s the engine stamp number?

This is the data on the entire car I've collected to date (plus notes)

VIN 4752908998
Engine 1.8L
Engine Serial Number: EC006108 1795cc
Transmission 914.301.101.00 914/12
Transmission Serial Number HA15113 15th day, month 11, year 1973 (11/15/73)
Chassis ID 084-9014 Week 8, Day 4 Karmen Factory, number 14 built that day
Karmann Plate 084-9014 L97B Ancona Metallic Blue
Timing Emission Sticker 1975 1.8
Valve Adjustment Sticker 1.8
License Plate Oregon July 2002 last registration
Manufactured Feb-75

Data from the PPS (kinda):
Engine Type: 22
Exterior Paint Color/Code: Ancona Metallic Blue / X5
Optional Equipment: Equipment for California, Tinted Side Glass
Interior - I am working with PCA to get this either corrected or clarified. Its Code 80, Black leatherette seat trim with medium blue tartan inserts.

EGR Counter for engine warning reset is installed.

Engine - Dual Weber 34's, no L-Jet, no smog equipment. Lower AC pulley bracket found installed on the block near the oil filter. The correct engine s/n for the car should have been around EC0043405.

Exhaust - 1973 heat exchange and sausage muffler. Rear transmission mounting bracket gone.

Regards,

Dave
