Hi team,

I’m dealing with an oil leak and suspect it may be a gummed up oil pressure relief valve/spring. Best I can tell, the pressure is blowing out the oil filter seal. I’ve replaced the oil cooler seals (twice in fact, just to make sure),the oil filter and there’s no leak around the oil pressure sensor line. No pushrod tube leaks either.

Are there pressure valve/kit replacements that are better than others, for a stock ‘73 2.0? Spirited street use.

I see an Empi kit and one from Tangerine Racing. Looking for opinions on products.

I'm still chasing weird pressures and leaks...

Is a gummed up oil relief valve a potential issue?

On some thread there was a comment about it being a potential cause, but I’m open to other ideas/causes. She always run at about 65 #s, idle or under load, which didn’t make sense. Then all of sudden I’ve a significant leak. Idling from cold, there’s no leak that I can detect. After about 10 minutes of idle, she starts to leak, significantly.

Absolutely open to your thoughts on other causes.

Just a few more days of driving weather left.

Thx
