Looking to replace my 10 year old Eagle GTs. They are 195/60/15 but seems like only 195/65/15s are available now when looking briefly. They will go on 4 lug Mahles under stock fenders. Pretty sure I couldn't get 205s under the fenders without rolling them (not interested in doing so) because it's already pretty tight on one side.

What does the 914 brain trust recommend these days?

I appreciate everyone's input. I know these tire size/brand threads have been beaten to death over the years, but I only buy tires when I have to replace the old ones, and opinions and tire availability changes.

So I think I have settled on 195/65/15 and the Yokohama Avid Ascend GTs.

but.....you might have a point. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

actually my reason for sticking with 165s is so i don't overpower the lack of baffles in the fuel tank going as hard as i can around round abouts. (i lost the baffles when i remodelled the fuel tank for rhd firewall mods 30 years ago). its got to have at least a third of a tank in it if i do more than two orbits.

also i'm probably saving the engine from oil starvation. its not like the old afrika corps technology engine is running a dry sump to cope with the g-forces.
