I have noticed that the air box connection is loose after getting to work on the car. Took the box off, changed the filter and vacuum hoses but noticed the connection isn’t tight after getting everything back together. I’m not married to the stock box if there is a better solution but just not sure if this connection is a wear item or I’m missing a way to tighten this connection.

I think you need to replace the rubber seal that seals the connection between the air filter box and the throttle body opening. The purpose is to provide an air tight seal at the joint so no dust gets sucked in through the throttle body/air box interface.
