Hi, Welcome to the club. I have heard that if you don't fill the tank all the way up to the top of the filler then the gauge will not read correct. I have put the gas hose in to fillup the tank ans when the nozzle shut off my tank only showed 3/4 full. When I pulled the nozzle up out of the tank I was able to put more gas in and the gauge went to full. The float may be stuck when it goes up To the top of the sender if your tank is all the way full. I hope this helps Mark.
