1973 914 EV Conversion Options

Hi -

I have a '73 2L that I converted to electric drive last year as I am trying to raise some money for a new project.

I want to get 14k for it. Could go as low as 11k if you don't want the EV parts (you keep the transaxle).

I purchased the Porsche from Arizona in '21.


Key Porsche features :

New tires (Fall of 2021) -- approximately 3k miles
Rust free. Originally Arizona and now California car.
Rebuilt transmission linkage
Upgraded LED headlights
Clean California Title in my name. Not registered as an EV, but smog exempt as a pre-75.
Recently repaired e-brake lever
New brake master cylinder (upgraded 23mm PMB)
New right rear brake caliper.

Key EV features :



9" series wound Advanced DC motor
Zilla 1K Controller -- liquid cooled
Porsche/VW adapter plate + hub + stage 3 clutch (less than 1k miles)
16kWh -- 8 modules Lithium (Enerdel) ~115V nominal
Approximately 40-50 mile range
Orion BMS
J1772 Charger (will include a 16A EVSE, too)
300W DC/DC converter
CAN bus display in cab for SOC, Voltage, etc.
Elcon 2500W Charger


Mandatory caveats :

All of the batteries are in the front trunk. I had envisioned balancing them better between fore and aft, but lacked the fabrication expertise to do so.
The interior gets a "C" grade. The previous owner attempted to restore it, but did not use top tier materials.
Currently rocking gray primer and needs paint.
Weather stripping should be replaced for the targa top and the front trunk. It is not water tight at the moment.
Transaxle leaks
Horn switch failed and has been relocated to a button on the dash. Wiring harness not altered to do so, so reverting to factory is simple.
