Good morning.
I managed to track down a couple pair of 3 inch caliper spacing Brembos. I started to do some initial fitment validation and realized that one pair fits perfectly on a vented front disk 3 inch caliper spacing whereas the other fits the same 3 inch caliper spacing perfectly but has too narrow of an opening where the disc goes so it’ll only work on unvented brake rotors. Any tips or coaching here on with the narrower pair will fit – is it simply a matter of needing an earlier non-vented from brake set up? In other words, one pair works fine with a 911 SC brake set up and I’m assuming the other pair should be fine with a non-vented 914 rotor? Thanks. |

I have 3 pair of the Alfa Brembo calipers and they all have spacers that measure approx 9mm thick.
If you are going 5 lug suspension you could run solid rotors from early 911/912 or you could run them on 914 solid rotors. 914 solid rotors are 10mm thick, 911/912 solid rotors are 12mm thick. I previously ran 912 calipers on my 71 914-4 solid rotors and they worked good but I could over heat them. Jim |
