Does anyone have this installed in their 914 ?

I don't like any non-stock modifications. I'm old fashioned I guess. I put my FE in a thick wool hiking boot sock & stick it behind the passenger seat. The seat moves easily so the FE is easy to get to. It doesn't move since the seat is almost all the way back. Whatever. Enjoy your evening.

Of course, a torched 914 from a fuel line fire would be old fashioned, just like many back in the day. Sorry, but your solution requires frequent drills to remove the FE from the HBS or it may be worthless. Say you put the FE in the HBS behind the PS and a fuel line fire, battery side, errupts. You freak and amaze at the size of the fireball. You reach over to the PS adjuster and try to move it up the get to the HBS. But b/c your not in the seat you can't make it move. That impressive ball of fire is now getting ready to explode. It's at this point you realize you are going to die just like Paul Wlker because you didn't like any stock modifications. ALL 914's need a quickly accessible FE! |
