I'm looking for recommendations for engine and transmission rebuild shops near the Albany New York area. Willing to go up to 150 miles from Albany for help. Additional question, I am not an experience mechanic but did buy a copy of Dr Evils transmission rebuild videos. He makes this look doable. I this a project that someone with limited experience would be able to pull off?
Thanks! |

I was able to purchase over time, some of the needed tools to overhaul a trans, but it was easier to buy a trashcan at Walmart and ship the trans to Dr. Evil. He has an extensive collection of used parts and can save you money. He also changed 3rd, 4th and 5th for my v8 conversion. I couldn't be happier with the trans and gear selection. |
