I rebuilt my 1975 914 1.8 front suspension including the wheel bearings. The ride hight was good and I proceeded to the test drive. After going over a speed bump I started hearing noises from the suspension. upon inspection with the wheels off I noticed the torsion bar adjustment cap had rotated counterclockwise, the adjuster screw no longer touched the stop and I was able to wobble the torsion bar/cap assemble on both sides.
Help please, what did I do incorrectly. There was no rust when disassembled! Attached File  Torsion_Bar.MOV ( 524.08k ) Number of downloads: 63

My guess is that the splines weren’t firmly seated
