Hello, guys. One more thing that it's going to make me crazy. My 914/4 has only four (4) gears. I haven't seen anywere this characteristic. Could you tell me something about this?

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/agree.gif) plus, after all this time using 2nd for 1st, your clutch is probably down to the metal as well! make sure the linkage is adjusted right, replace all worn bushings and voila! 5-speed ... unless the PO put a 915 gearbox in your car, in which case you can consider yourself very lucky ...
