Hello out there....so I am about to install a brand new Gemo speedometer cable....should I lubricate it? I have concocted my own graphite and rubbing alcohol solution that seems to be working great on my pedal cluster.....I now think grease = grit so I am using dry lube as much as possible....do tell? Thank you very much,
gg

I'd never mix grease and graphite.

I though the cables came greased from the factory. I don't think I could remove all of the grease cleanly enough to change to graphite.

I too, have used a spray penetrate to loosen old cables and that has worked fine in the past.

I use Sta-lube marine grease everywhere!
It's the best seal grease I've ever found.
Works great on cables too.
I've never had a bad chemical reaction to the old grease with this stuff.
I will use it on all of the cables in the 914...
