Does any one have a picture with this engine covered for rain? See the buttons on rear of engine lid. Matt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) |

Does any one have a picture with this engine covered for rain? See the buttons on rear of engine lid. Matt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flag.gif) its possible that the snap buttons are not original. maybe happened somewhere along the way later in time. period photos of the monte carlo rally cars in the factory workshop getting prepped don't seem to show the studs. instead the engine lid seems to have solid strips in the mesh like rain lids over the stacks. i think i have seen the same thing with solid strips on other factory team cars but not necessarily the rest of GTs supplied to customers. very few of these factory team cars stayed original after they were finished with. often sold on to customers and used on the road even. one of the monte cars became the recarro safety car. this one here being offered for sale was restored to original race condition. for instance #40 was restored, it had been sold and used as a road car after finishing its race life. |
