Does anyone know if the dimensions of the dash switch caps in 911s is similar to the ones we have in our 914s (same as Beetle)?
I was wondering if this cap below would fit in our switches. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) ![]() Last question... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) Does anyone know if this cap is used on a back lit switch? Thank you! |

I just compared them since at the moment I have them both in my garage. I think the dimensions are the same but I'm not sure of the shape. And I can't get them out of the switch. In the 911 it's a back lit switch.Never used it. |

Ideally the seat switches would be of the era. I find this defrost cap somewhat close to the typical heated seat sign. A two position switch (such as headlight) with backlighting would be super! I would probably install a red LED and figure a way for it to have two intensities with low on the parking lights 1st position for low heat setting, and high intensity in the headlights positions for high heat. All of this could be driven by relays to preserve the switch. Edit: It looks like the 993 headlight switch is backlit. I assume it has two positions... |
